Joy has enjoyed a successful career as a Vice President of Executive Education at Thunderbird School of Global Management, where she worked with for-profit clients such as American Express, Boeing, Grupo Alfa, Chase Card Services, Intel China and Cisco collaborating on the design and delivery of powerful executive development learning engagements. In the non-profit sector, key clients served include the IFRC, World Wildlife Fund, The Global Fund, UNICEF, ProMujer, Acumen Fund and ASHOKA, among many others.
Previously, she was Vice President of Thunderbird’s Alumni Relations where she successfully globalized the Thunderbird Alumni Network, comprised of over 40,000 highly mobile individuals within 140 countries working in 15,000 corporations worldwide. She also served as a corporate foundation relations officer and major gifts officer at Thunderbird, contributing to the success of two capital campaigns.
She also served as the Executive Director of the Phoenix Bach Choir (now the Phoenix Chorale), leading the organization from a community to professional vocal ensemble, now a 3-time award winning Grammy choir.
Joy currently serves on the board of the International Coach Federation, ICF Arizona Charter Chapter, as President and is a member in good standing with ICF (International Coach Federation). She is also a member of ACEC (Association of Corporate Executive Coaches).
Formerly, Joy served as President of the Alumni Council of Thunderbird from March, 2014-June, 2015, as well as ex-officio member of the former Thunderbird Global Council and Thunderbird Board of Trustees.
Joy has a commitment to pro bono coaching, and offers her leadership coaching expertise in service to United for Growth (Arizona) as well as the United Nations. She has served as a coach/mentor for the Thunderbird Dreamcatchers Program, in collaboration with Freeport McMoran. Joy has also served as a mentor in Thunderbird’s Project Artemis: The Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Program, as well as the Cherie Blaire Foundation.
Education & Certifications
Joy earned a Global MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management (with an emphasis in Marketing). Her undergraduate degree is from Bowling Green State University (with a double major in German and Spanish and a minor in Piano). She has lived and worked in Austria, Spain and Italy, as well as having traveled throughout the world serving her diverse client base.
Joy is certified in the 20/20 Awareness Index (Executive Core), The Language of Influence (LOI-through Executive Core), the Cultural Orientation Approach (COA- through TMC, A Berlitz Company), the Leadership Versatility Index (LVI- through Kaplan Devries), Hogan Personality Assessments (October, 2015), Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coaching (November, 2015) and Executive Education Workshop Facilitator (through Development Dimensions International). She most recently completed 60 hours of Presence-Based Coaching education with Doug Silsbee and Bebe Hansen (Spring, 2017) and in June, 2018, completed an additional 75 hours of education and testing to earn the coveted designation of Certified Presence-Based Coach. She has also earned her ACC coach certification with the ICF.
Joy speaks Spanish and Italian at highly proficient levels and German conversationally. Joy has two grown sons and resides in Glendale, Arizona with her husband.

Malia Monaco, MA, ACC
Malia has the heart of an educator, the soul of an entrepreneur and the mind of an innovator! She came to the profession of coaching with a background in mental health and entrepreneurship, hoping it would be the perfect combination to develop a successful coaching practice. She soon realized the challenges and struggles in building a thriving practice. Her coach training spent two hours on the last day of a yearlong program helping us define a niche and business plan. She had a lot of learning to do on her own. She wanted to help everyone and learn every coaching modality. This left her floundering and frustrated, and it surely wasn’t helping her make money.
Her path to prosperity began when she discovered online course creation, where she could capitalize on her knowledge, experience, and coaching skills into building an online environment. Mindy Schlimgen, ICF-ACC
Mindy Schlimgen is a nature-based personal coach, receiving her certification in Nature-connected Coaching (320-hour) from the Earth-based Institute in Boulder, Colorado in 2017. She created Awareness With Nature, LLC to share her services in individual/group coaching, nature-connection workshops, and spiritual retreats. She also offers Forest Bathing (Shinrin-yoku) immersion workshops for sensory awareness, mindfulness and teambuilding in nature. She has resided in Prescott since 2000.
Mindy’s diverse background includes a strong knowledge-base in nonprofit management, community education, program development, and environmental planning and policy, along with agency (internal) relations and community (external) relations. A nature-lover since a youth, she studied natural resources and holds degrees in Forest Management (BS) and Water Resources (MS) from the University of Wisconsin. Cornelia is and Graduate of the Executive and Professional Coaching Program at the University of Texas at Dallas. Cornelia has a broad base of experience working in several areas and types of business and corporations throughout the United States. She also served on the Board of the ICF for Southern Arizona for four years, two as President.
Prior to starting her own coaching and consulting business, she spent 10 years working with a major defense contractor in Organizational Development, facilitating strategic planning sessions, team retreats, conducting assessments, and coaching mid-level managers. She also developed and implemented a training program for Capture Mangers for the Business Development.
She served as the Program Manager for a software development firm and with her team, successfully implemented a $1 million Licensing/Permitting Database Management Systems for a major Midwest metropolitan city including the design of development of all training materials.

Jan recently retired from a long and successful corporate career, where she worked in talent
management, talent acquisition and human resources. Most recently, she coached individuals at various levels of management on leadership development and organizational effectiveness. Jan is currently applying her leadership development and career coaching talents to help individuals near retirement or recently retired to unmask and develop their ideal retirement lifestyle.
