ICF ARIZONA presents mentor coaching for any member seeking their ACC or PCC, or for anyone who wants to deepen their coaching skills. Mentor Coaching, as defined by the ICF, is professional assistance in achieving and demonstrating the levels of coaching competency demanded by the desired credential level sought by the participant. The participant will be coached on their coaching skills rather than being coached on practice building, life balance, or other topics unrelated to the development of coaching skills.

Led by experienced mentors from ICF Arizona’s Professional Development Committee, the training is structured to provide a supportive and authentic training focusing on the development of each participant’s own coaching style and identifying participants’ strengths, achievements, and growth throughout the process.
Each participant must be able to provide our mentors with three recent recordings of their coaching sessions for review in the one-on-one coaching.

Participants will be provided:
  • Three one-on-one mentor sessions and seven group coaching sessions.
  • The opportunity to practice and observe coaching in group sessions in order to develop core competencies.
  • Specific verbal and/or written feedback, using targeted examples from each mentor session.
  • Feedback on strengths, areas of growth, competency use, and skill level using competency based language and specific behavioral examples from the coaching.
