Gender equity is about ensuring that no one is limited by socially constructed notions of what we “should” be or what we “can” do. This program will focus on defining gender and the role of culture in understanding gender. This program will provide knowledge and skills necessary for advancing gender equality in their daily lives and work. Gender differences need to be examined as these differences are not innate but arise from societal expectations, education, training, and other factors. Checking our biases regarding gender needs to be part of the conversations regarding equity.

In this program, participants learn about gender-sensitive training approaches and use of tools to promote participation and shared learning. Understanding gender through the lens of intersectionality.
